Stunning Kitchen Wrap Transformation in Glasgow
Updated: Jul 24
A Bold Design Vision Brought to Life
At Gibson Interior Wrapping, we love a challenge, and this recent kitchen transformation in Glasgow is one of our favourite projects to date.
This was actually the third kitchen we’ve completed for this returning customer, so we knew she had an eye for design. This time, she came to us with five colour codes and a simple brief. The rest was down to us to bring her vision to life.
The result? A completely unique kitchen that combines bold contrasts, warm tones, metallic accents, and premium finishes to create a truly bespoke space.
The Challenge
The existing kitchen had good bones, but it was beginning to show its age. Several cabinet doors had suffered from UV damage, causing discolouration over time, while the worktops and splashback felt dated and no longer reflected the customer’s style.
Rather than replacing the entire kitchen, the homeowner chose architectural wrapping – a cost-effective and sustainable alternative that delivers stunning results without the mess, expense, or disruption of a full renovation.
The Design
This project was all about combining complementary textures and colours to create depth, contrast, and character throughout the space.
Cabinet Finishes
* Large utility unit – K1 Matt Black
* Base units – K1 Matt Black
* Top units – RM13 Beige
* Boiler cupboard – RM13 Beige
* Freestanding unit – NE47 Bronze Metallic
* All plinths – NE47 Bronze Metallic
The contrast between the deep matt black base units and the soft beige upper cabinetry creates a sophisticated, contemporary feel, while the bronze metallic accents add warmth and luxury.
Worktops & Splashback
To complete the transformation, we wrapped the existing surfaces with premium architectural finishes:
* Worktops – 1912MT Stone from 3M Di-NOC
* Splashback – NU2008 Textile from 3M Di-NOC
The stone-effect worktops provide a timeless, high-end appearance, while the textile-inspired splashback introduces subtle texture and visual interest.
The Finishing Touches
As with any great kitchen design, it’s the details that make all the difference.
To elevate the finished space even further, we:
* Replaced the existing mini spotlights with warm white LED lighting
* Installed three different handle styles, carefully selected to complement each section of the kitchen
These final touches helped tie the entire design together and gave the kitchen a truly bespoke feel.
Why Wrap Instead of Replace?
Kitchen wrapping continues to grow in popularity because it allows homeowners to completely transform their space without the cost and disruption of a full kitchen replacement.
Benefits include:
* Significant savings compared to fitting a new kitchen
* Faster installation times
* Minimal mess and disruption
* Endless design possibilities
* Reduced waste and environmental impact
In many cases, a kitchen can be transformed in just a few days while retaining the existing units and layout.
An Absolute Masterpiece
Projects like this are a reminder that sometimes the best designs come from trusting your instincts. Our customer had a vision, a handful of colour samples, and the confidence to do something different—and the results speak for themselves.
This Glasgow kitchen is proof that if you have an idea for your home, don’t be afraid to go for it. With the right finishes and expert installation, even a tired kitchen can become the standout feature of your home.
